Presently, David is the co-founder and senior lecturer for BWGI Ministries, a non-profit organization dedicated to introducing people to God’s loyal love. The organization's original name, 'Kesed,' comes from the Hebrew word for 'loyal love.' BWGI Ministries is a seminar and training team that works with Campus Crusade, churches, denominations, schools, and other parachurch organizations to bring spiritual transformation to their constituencies. David has spent over 25 years in Biblical research. He is an instructor in the disciplines of spiritual life formation, and he has spent countless hours counseling and discipling individuals. The result is a uniquely gifted individual who effectively communicates God’s truths to a hurting world. David
received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Houghton
College, a Master of Divinity degree from San Francisco Conservative
Baptist Seminary and a Master of Theology degree from Golden Gate
Seminary. During his seminary years he won the Charles Haddon
Spurgeon Preaching Award from San Francisco Seminary for the most
effective communicator among the graduating seniors. |
After completing six years of graduate research at Oxford University in England, David received his Doctor of Philosophy degree from Golden Gate Seminary in San Francisco, California. He has authored the commentary Discovering Micah through Malachi and has written a book on spiritual life development entitled Becoming What God Intended: A Study for Spiritual Transformation. He was a contributor to the New King James Study Bible with commentary on several of the Minor Prophets. He has written other books and numerous articles. His biblical scholarship is combined with 30 years of experience as pastor, counselor, teacher and conference speaker, with a distinctly biblical and practical approach to everyday life. He is convinced that knowing the Trinity and living out of one's Identity in Christ results in a profound transformational experience. Dr. Eckman and his wife, Carol, have been married for 30 years and have two children. They live in Pleasanton, California. |
