Search Help
The powerful
search function provides a number of possible ways to search our
site. A summary of the search capability is provided in the
table below. For your convenience, there is an additional
search entry form below the table.
|
Search |
Example |
Explanation |
|
Single Keyword |
bible |
Returns each page containing the keyword bible |
|
Multiple Keywords |
bible verse |
Returns each page containing the keyword bible
AND the keyword verse
anywhere within the document. Same as if you had
typed: +bible +verse (see Boolean) |
|
Phrase |
"bible verse" |
Returns each page containing the exact string in quotes, meaning
only those pages where bible is
followed directly by verse. |
|
Boolean |
+bible -verse |
Returns each page based on the Boolean condition being met.
A plus (+) preceding a keyword indicates that the keyword
MUST exist on the page. A minus (-)
preceding a keyword indicates that the keyword MUST
NOT exist on the page. In this example, you
are requesting all pages that include ‘Bible,’ but not pages
that include ‘Bible verse.' |
Wildcard
(Partial Keywords) |
bib*
*form
*form* |
Returns each page where a keyword exists that either starts with,
ends with, or is contained within a particular term.
Therefore, the first example would return any page
containing keywords starting with bib, such
as bible, or bibliography. The second example
would return any page containing keywords ending in
form such as
transform,
or reform. The third
example would return any page containing keywords with
form within itself, such as transformational,
form, or reformat. |
|
Title Search |
^bookstore |

bookstore within the <TITLE> section of the
HTML. |
