 "When I began Dr. Eckman's study
Becoming What God Intended,
I was coming from a very legalistic background. I was in
terror of judgment day. I had been taught that those sins that
I had forgotten to confess would be shown on the big screen video of
my life before I entered into heaven. God was a god of anger
and wrath and took delight in punishing me for the choices I had
made in my life.
I could never measure up to the standards I was taught to
achieve the level of a 'good' or 'mature' Christian. I had my
'more spiritual' friends intercede for me with God, as I felt He
would hear their prayers and answer THEM. Certainly He would
not answer ME! Over the years this became a hard way to live.
Becoming What God Intended
blew all of my life theories away! God kept no record
of my wrongs? When he looked at me he smiled and only saw me
through the blood of Christ? Now that IS life changing!
To learn to be parented by the Trinity was soul warming, indeed!
I read God's word to daily remind me how much 'I am the apple of his
eye.'
I have benefited so much from the study. I encourage
anyone who struggles with guilt, worthlessness or shame from their
past to seriously consider it. It will dispel the many
'churchy' ways some of us have come to view our Savior, and lead us
into a wonderful, warm and loving relationship with our Father God."
