I grew up in a Christian home. I began walking
with God intimately when I was 18. I immediately began
teaching and leading and continued in various roles of leadership,
preaching and teaching. I was a Youth Pastor for 7 years.
But it was not until I was close to 30 years of age, some 12 years
of ministry later, that I attended David Eckman’s
Acceptance Seminar for 12
weeks. That was the first time I feel I truly began to
understand how the Gospel really works.
1 John 4:18 says, “We love
because He first loved us.” My ministry was all of a
sudden simply an expression of gratitude, not a means to gain
acceptance from God and a method for propping up my identity.
I was and continue to be captivated by the fact that what God my
Father desires is me!
