I am convinced that Dr. Eckman has discovered the most important aspect, that is the essence of the Gospel and God's word. Having come from the Silicon Valley industry, I have a certain skepticism about anyone's opinion. That includes their opinion of who I am and who I can be. My identity has been fluid over the years, and this has resulted in some great successes, yet some monumental failures. In particular, I reached a crisis of identity as I passed my fortieth birthday, which led me to change the entire direction of my life. I looked at who I had become and determined that it was not who God had intended me to be. The question, then, was who did He intend that I be and what did it take to become that person? The first phase of learning the answer came during my seminary training several years ago. Three of my courses were taught by Dr. Eckman, and I learned his teaching on the Bible. I discovered his view of Romans and received tremendous clarification about my true identity from God's point of view. In fact, I would claim it to be the most completely believable and acceptable explanation of personal reality anyone could ever proffer. I am convinced that Dr. Eckman has discovered the most important aspect, that is, the essence, of the Gospel and God's word. Therefore, I have joined him in his effort to proliferate the message to people who, like me, have come to question who they think they are and are trying to establish the healthiest point of view to who they truly are. I retired from a lucrative career in electronics and the graduated from Western Seminary. This directly reflects the personal transformation that the Bible teaches and Dr. Eckman preaches. God has a plan for our lives, and we cannot completely fulfill that plan if we don't know who God made us to be and how He views us. To that end I am committed to helping the BWGI Ministries help others transform and grow in spiritual maturity. I have said to many friends, "If the Bible doesn't change you, if God's word does not affect a transformation, then its just another good story book on the shelf, but not much more." The idea that we are God's sons and daughters by virtue of our faith is not a metaphor or analogy, but a reality that is designed to impact our being at the deepest level. It is critical that I understand who I am in God's eyes before I can deal with the eyes of everyone else, especially of myself. If I can transform from what I have been to what I am becoming, it is because I see and understand what Dr. Eckman points to so accurately. God has placed us in a unique position which must be understood and must be practiced for it to become transformational. When I came to understand what God determined me to be, it became possible to strive to become that person. It is an ongoing lifelong process that I came to understand by studying the Bible through the lens of the BWGI materials and finding the truth that lies within God's Word.
